Economically black women continue to be hit the hardest in all industries. During COVID-19, they lost 258,000 jobs across the United States. Economy Policy Institute research shows black women make up a large portion of the economy between front line workers, head of households, and small business owners. 1.5 million women of color are “essential” workers, making them the “Pulse of the U.S Economy”. When black women thrive and are protected universally, then as a nation we can flourish together as one.
